Ogden Municipal Building

Council-Mayor Form of Government:

Ogden City operates under a Council-Mayor form of government. This form of local government follows the ideal of "separation of power" set forth by the framers of the Constitution, which vests the City government in separate, independent and equal branches of government:
  • An executive branch consisting of the Mayor and the administrative departments
  • A legislative branch consisting of the City Council and its staff

Administrative Departments:

Community & Economic Development:

Engaged in downtown and neighborhood revitalization, economic development, home ownership and housing rehabilitation

Public Services:

Provides community services and infrastructure.

Police Department:

The Ogden Police Department has been providing law enforcement services to this community since 1855.

 

Fire Department:

Provides a wide range of services to the community designed to protect and preserve life, property and the environment through the planning, prevention, education and response.

Management Services:

Primarily provides services to enable city departments; including:

City Attorney:

The Office of Ogden City Attorney provides legal services to the Mayor, City Council and the various operating departments on all legal matters affecting the City. Additionally, the criminal division of the City Attorney's office prosecutes all infractions and misdemeanors under City ordinances or state law.
